5 k-drama second couples that shined

As a K-Drama fan, it’s easy to fall in love with the main leads. We watch their trials, tribulations, and chemistry unfold on-screen that we’d be heart broken if their relationship didn’t survive in the end. However, there is that rare occasion that second leads capture our hearts with their different style of relationships and romance.
Check out these five equally swoon-worthy second couples who shined (or dare I say outshined) the main.
1. Grim Reaper and Sunny (Goblin)
The love story of Sunny and Grim Reaper stole viewers' hearts from the get go. In a previous life, Sunny sacrifices her love so that the king could have a chance for love in the next life. The two reunite after Sunny’s reincarnated in the present as the Grim Reaper, her former love, guides her to the afterlife.
2. LEE YOUNG HWA AND SEO DAN AH (RUN ON)
These second leads are the typical second lead couple you find in a K-Drama. Lee Young Hwa and Seo Dan Ah have a university student painter and CEO business style relationship at first. However, with more patience as the drama goes on, Seo Dan Ah learns to accept Lee Young Hwa’s love for her and eventually gets over the gaps in their age, social status, and maturity.
3. GOO SEUNG JOON AND SEO DAN (CRASH LANDING ON YOU)
While Goo Seung Joon fell for Seo Dan pretty early, she was less than enthusiastic, pushing him away every chance she got. That didn’t sway him from leaving her side and eventually form an unlikely friendship and bond through a series of mishaps. Unfortunately, Seo Dan realizes her feelings for Goo Seung Joon a little too late when he goes on a one-way journey to save her.
4. SEO DAE YOUNG AND YOON MYUNG JOO (DESCENDANTS OF THE SUN)
It’s hard not to be familiar with the complicated on-again-off-again relationship of the seconds leads in Descendants of the Sun. Throughout the series, Seo Dae Young and Yoon Myung Joo faced many challenges when it came to love but ultimately found their way to each other through perseverance, determination, and unwavering love for one another.
5. CHA HYUN AND SEOL JI HWAN (SEARCH: WWW)
Who says you can’t date your idol? Cha Hyun is a strong, independent woman who needs no man, focused on work she accidentally meets, Seol Ji Hwan, the actor of her favorite makjang drama. Her love as a fan transforms into love as a woman as she learns he is sweet, considerate, and very down to earth -- unlike his drama character.
