3 reasons we are looking forward to the new season of "love alarm"

The new season of Love Alarm is almost here -- so just in case you haven’t watched or rewatched the eight-episode long first season here is a recap.

Love Alarm follows high school student Kim Jojo (Kim So Hyun) who has more than her fair of drama going on in her life. From her best friend ghosting her after she falls in love with Jojo’s boyfriend to her aunt and cousin bullying her at home and school, and much more it seems like love is just an afterthought.

Insert Love Alarm --  an app that alerts a user if someone within you is someone within 10 meters likes them. Needless to say, the app opens up a world of opportunities, inevitable heartbreak if your significant other doesn’t ring your alarm, and plenty of drama.

The app only further adds to Jojo’s drama when she becomes the object of best friends Hye Yeong (Jung Ga Ram) and Sun Oh (Song Kang), who both ring her alarm. Through trials and tribulations, intimate moments, and fights Jojo decides to distance herself from the drama (aka the app) and the boys. It seemingly works as we fast forward to adulthood where Sun Oh and Hye Yeong are still best friends, Jojo is still dealing with family drama and is none the wiser of their unrequited love the boys still have for her. That is until they meet again.

Without further ado, here are three reasons why we're looking forward to the second season dropping on March 12th on Netflix.

1. The end of the love triangle (hopefully!)

Season one left us on a cliffhanger as Sun Oh and Hye Yeong and both subsequently ring Jojo’s alarm for all to hear. As we’ve seen in the stills released so far, both Sun Oh and Hye Yeong are hell-bent on winning Jojo over. From fighting each other to kissing Jojo we can only hope that this love triangle ends for their sake and ours.

2. The relationship between Jojo and Gul-Mi

You may remember that Kim Jojo was bullied throughout season one by her cousin Park Gul-Mi (Go Min-Si). Gul-Mi beat up and bullied Jojo in high school, threw all of her belongings out of their shared bedroom, was adamant that she (Jojo) didn’t deserve Sun Oh, and even drained Jojo’s bank account. The turning point in their relationship was when Jojo stood up to Gul-Mi. We suspect that as these cousins continue to mature, grow into themselves more and find love (hopefully) they will become allies and each other's greatest supporters.

3. The resilience and resolve of the male leads

Hye Yeong previously declared that he not only would ring Jojo’s alarm ten times per day but also would pursue her the old fashion way whether she rang his alarm or not. It was love at first sight for Sun Oh the moment he saw Jojo. Despite the years that have passed since they were high school sweethearts, Sun Oh was never able to fill the void in his heart by Jojo.

Through it, all Hye Yeong and Sun Oh have proved their resilience and resolve in their love for Jojo. So who will she ultimately pick in the end?
